After last week’s excitement re Low playing (just for me!) at Christmas, this….was reading a long review of the latest reissue of the latest complete (this time) reissue/redux of Twin Peaks (ahead of …something next year, mmm?) and adding it to my wish list…..and now I see the other guy (Mr Frost) is doing a book tour and is appearing close enough for me to take him a hot cup of coffee…take me I’m yours…

The 2014 Blu Ray set is currently 20 quid from HMV. DVD version even cheaper. Damn fine.

Mark Frost’s Secret History of Twin Peaks is due for publication in October, and the third series is due to be screened in the first half of 2017. The bluray box set is worth it for the ‘missing pieces’ from the Fire Walk With Me film, almost an hour of extra unscreened footage, and the quality of the remastering of the entire series is superb, although the sound occasionally leaves a little to be desired. For 20 quid it’s a no brainer.
Naturally, the owls are not what they seem.
Wow, that video! It’s one of the great mysteries of our time that Sherilyn Fenn didn’t go on to be a huge A-list Hollywood star; she had a luminous, classic beauty in the Elizabeth Taylor/Ava Gardner siren mould, could play the ingenue or seductress with the best of them, and was one of the starriest alumni of a landmark TV series. The last I saw of her was a ‘starring’ role in a godawful pile of schlock shown very late on the Horror Channel. What a waste.
That godawful pile of schlock would have been ‘Bigfoot’. Apart from Sherilyn, the cast included Danny from the Partridge Family, Greg from The Brady Bunch, Shelley from Northern Exposure, Bubbles from The Wire and Alice Cooper.
The scene where she tied a knot in a cherry stalk with her tongue is engraved on my mind.
Agree with all of the above. This was the review of the latest “definitive edition” – anyone seen it? is it worth waiting for?

FWIW I don’t recall the film version added much altho’ it had its moments….
Strangely (what else?) it appears to have 1 disc less than the 2014 edition so perhaps less extras?
I’m slightly confused and I hope someone can elucidate…. Has there been a new new Twin Peaks box set? Newer than that Blu Ray one from a couple of years ago? What have I missed?
And while I’m asking questions, does anyone know where we will be able to view the new series when it airs? Is it going to be on NetFlix? Or even BBC? I’m in the UK.
A new Blu-Ray box set has been released in the US with less content but roughly same artwork as the previous blu ray set. So nothing to see really
Twin Peaks is on Showtime network whose content almost exclusively ends up on Sky Atlantic in the UK
Thank you kindly. I see now.
It was on Netflix in the very early days of the service – I re-watched the first series over a few days with a nasty bout of manful during my free trial.
Which of us can swear we’ve never had a nasty bout of manful once in a while?
And Sherilyn Fenn popped up in Ray Donovan too, as Holly, the wife of the James Cochran (Hank Azaria) recurring character, the FBI swinger with rockstar leanings. Shall we say she is filling out a la Elizabeth taylor these days.
She had a recurring role in one season of The Gilmore Girls and wasn’t she the star of that dreadful exploitation shocker Boxing Helena (a career killer if ever there was one).
May just do either Manchester or Newcastle.
Can I just say that in 1996, mrs duco and I visited Snoqualmie Falls, which is the Washington State waterfall featured on the opening credits of Twin Peaks.
It was … OK, I suppose. As waterfalls go.
