First thing that popped into my head yesterday morning.
You see, I think this kind of thing is part of problem.
That grumpy, listen-to-me-you-idiots type approach that is adopted by those who consider themselves as superior to most. Christopher Hitchens could do it very well, but he was him, and his situations were staged. Have you ever tried to tell it like it is to a group of people and been met with mass unanimous, awe-inspired silence?
This way of communicating needs to change. Even though I agree with most of what he says – a large part of me wants to shout “bollocks!” because it’s such an arrogant way to get your point across.
Dude, watch the rest of Newsroom. The above clip sets the tone and it only gets worse from there. Ugh.
I did think that it was a bit like the more toe-curling moments of West Wing and ta-daa it’s done by the same people!
Makes The West Wing look like the Clay Davis scenes from The Wire.
