I just played a gig, rocked the house, and now have pint of Speckled Hen, 2 fingers of single malt, a tub of pistachio nuts, the Beeb and my mandolin so I am set for the night. How is it for you? Drama already with the exit polls….

A bit worrying but always hopeful. Got a bottle of Bells and 20 fags. Hope to see it through to certainty.
Got everything I need for the next couple of hours with the exception of a loaded pistol.

Come on, P, shooting people is no answer. Didn’t do Lee Harvey Oswald any good*
(* ha ha! like he ever shot anyone)
Hoo bloody ray. The reply function worked for me this time. It’s a day for little victories it would seem.
Thanks Moosey. I spent this particular long dark night of the soul making a couple of small drawings. As I often do.
I’m slowly amassing a number of them, mostly black and white pen drawings.
They are my ‘notes’ but I hope they stand up as finished pieces as well.
I’ll get around to showing them off some time or other.
(serious response) Nice to see a ‘Squeezer work at this nascent stage. Fire up the sun, painter man…
God I hate exit polls. Take all the fun out of things. Where’s the whisky bottle?….
Reasons to be cheerful (even if the exit poll is right):
George Galloway out
Norman Baker out
Labour might hold on here in Leith
Er,
That’s it
Danny Alexander out…… YES!
At least until he’s parachuted into the Lords in about six weeks time.
GG would be a great result – an utterly filthy campaign from a lowly slug of a man
One more – Farage doesn’t win Thanet, and after two years of continuous UKIP propaganda on the BBC, the bubble bursts.
Interesting that thus far the Beeb are depicting the swing to UKIP as being one from Labour. It’s not – it’s from the BNP, who aren’t standing in many of the seats they contested in 2010.
Farage doesn’t win in Thanet – and the Pub Landlord does. That’s what would happen in Oz.
Got a pint of London Pride on the go, saving the whiskey in case it goes downhill later. Watching the results on STV at the mo’.
Kesia is better looking than Jim but she is still in denial in suggesting Labour’s failings are all down to the SNP! Their campaign up here was dismal. Don’t think the SNP will get 58 seats but 12 would be a record for the party and 30 would be a majority in Scotland . I think there are going to be some close results and maybe a few recounts before we get a definitive result in these parts. How’s it looking in Engerland?
Busy evening with the NHS sprinkling its magic over our household earlier. Hanging on now with the tail end of a bottle of Fullers ESB, a bag of Doritos and a slab of 70% chocolate.
This focus on the exit poll is getting a bit wearing and I’m still hoping for the UKIPs to get a good kicking.
Going to have a glass of red wine and a nap before the main results roll in.
This is just dreadful. Looking like the Tories are back in, possibly with DUP/UKIP support rather than the Lib Dems. It wouldn’t astonish me if they end up with a majority by morning. Despite that, expect footage of SNP celebrations. Which should tell you all you need to know…
Wow, they really, really hate us, don’t they?
I’ve said all along, the SNP want a Tory majority, therein lies endless division and Westminster hating. Nicola is currently dancing round her handbag.
Nae Moose, you’re alright, we dinnae hate ye mon, but Tories or red Tories? No thanks. Reckon around 50 seats for SNP which will rid some Labour dead wood from the system.
The unionist parties fought a very negative campaign and look like paying the price.
Agreed Labour have only got themselves to blame. Almost the first person I saw tonight was Ed Balls, looking pleased as punch because he presumes he’ll be leader of the opposition in a few months, as if that fucking matters, the lairy get. None of them believe in anything.
The SNP believe in something, sure – it’s their willingness to leave the rest of the UK to the tender mercies of the hard right which is rather un-socialist.
And I havenae mentioned Wee Rupert Murdoch.
I really don’t think Ed Balls believes that – I thought he looked like a man who knows the game is up. The best for him is that his wife may be leader, but trith is Labour are going to have to skip a generation to people who weren’t part of the Blair/Brown governemnt – Umunna, Creasey, Hunt maybe
Is that the best they can do? Very uninspiring list of candidates there. We seem to have a real crisis of leadership in as much as I suspect most vote for the least worst alternative.
I rather like Yvette Cooper. I think she’d be good as leader, especially if hubby disappears along with his history.
The failure of Labour is just that. Labour have failed.
Still up, can’t believe the result in Scotland, with 3 seats awaited, all but 3 seats have been won by the SNP, some with huge swings and comfortable majorities. Didn’t see that coming, after the indy ref I don’t think anyone trusts the polls any more.
Being in the US, it’s nearly midnight here so almost 6am back home. The Lib Dem massacre was no surprise, though possibly even more savage than expected – Danny Alexander just lost by nearly 11k. The exit polls appear to have been pretty accurate – at this rate the Tories could have a majority.
So we might get a Conservative/DUP/UKIP coalition…?
Yesss! I organise trips to the dogs, so I expect the whole country will be keeping me busy.
George Galloway lost by about 11k. Face like thunder…
Just noticed David Dimbleby’s tie. Outstanding
The government won! Off to bed.
Went to bed early because I Wasn’t expecting good news, even before the exit poll, and that seems to have been a good decision.
Every cloud – at least we can take some pleasure from George Galloway being ousted and Farage failing in Thannet.
Bloody stupid reply function.
