Out today – ‘One Final Ace & Deuce’, a single/trailer for the forthcoming epic Horslips box set ‘More Than You Can Chew’, filmed by Mark Case at Lissan House, Tyrone and Collins Barracks, Dublin – and featuring, in ‘sober-suited men’ acting/extras splendidness, Ulster punk icon Davy McLarnon, international man of mystery Gary Rea, traditional music sensations John McSherry and Gino Lupari… and (uncredited) myself as ‘the hand of history’. 🙂
The 33CD+2DVD+2 books box set – mastered by the incomparable and now exhausted Cormac O’Kane, Wizard of Sound – was originally planned for late July release but will now ship in early December, owing to international supply chain issues). It will be slightly delayed- but it will be legendary! 😃
That supply chain issue again – Wilco used it with their new release which is still not issued but don’t know any other groups that are using it. All I know is that by the time I get it in December Burning Shed will have had my money for close to a year so I hope it is worth it.
I work for a company that exports records to the USA and the supply chain is challenged but not dramatically so, more a case of working to an unrealistic release date.
I’m involved in the Horslips release and I can say that yes, there was *some* time slippage related to locking down the content (DVD authoring especially – due to matters beyond our control), but the early December prognosis genuinely is to do with manufacturing and supply issues.
Conversely, I’m involved in another project where the preference to release CD + vinyl versions at the same time created a November ’22 release date… and then the vinyl unexpectedly turns up in June! In that instance, the label has opted to honour its existing release date (for various reasons).

Delays happen, first world probs (again), so it goes. I reckon I’ve enough stuff to get me by ‘till December.
That was fab!
Indeed. Thank you Hamish 🙂
