Right on the cusp between summer and autumn, evenly balanced – please excuse me for taking Bruce’s horns to blow my own trumpet. Have a great Wednesday everyone and Happy Unbirthday to most of you good people.

Don’t envy you having to spend your birthday hovering between life (Bruce/Danielle) and death (Mickey/Ray), but hope you have a good one
Them’s teh brokes – thanks!
Just off to have a birthday lunch with one of our best chums. We’ll raise a glass of Languedoc’s finest to you as well.
Yore too kind!
You and Lodestone share the same best chums? Colour me green and paint me with jealousy! I’m not convinced a birthday is anything to celebrate though. I ignore my own, as did my parents before me. Not so much because time is an artificial construct but more because I can’t be arsed. Happy birthday, Sal my lovely!
Pedigree chums, Gary – L’o de stone mange aujourd’hui avec ses chiens un morceau de rat en gelé – je crois.
Merci pour tes mots gentils sur mon anniversaire.
I notice you weren”t invited to your own birthday lunch though. Bit remiss, I thought.
Many Happy Returns
Ta, muchly!
Fucking fantastic!
Peel holding a copy of ‘Colours Of My Life’, the autobiography of Malcolm Allison, who, coincidentally, was also born in September.
Happy Birthday salwarpe!
Thanyouvermush, Mr Hairnet.

From just up the road, Wuppertal, happy birthday, Sal.
Feeling donkeys! Wupp! Wupp!
Happy Birthday
Thank you to you and the female Dr and the Medics there. I’m always up for noisy candy
Happy birthday!
It’s my birthday tomorrow. Can we guess what our dad’s got for Christmas?
Thank you! In Germany it’s bad luck to give out birthday greetings ahead of the date, so I wish you happy birthday for last year, nachträglich
Are you my long lost brother? I would say, he’s getting the present we don’t want wrapped up again. And this year it won’t be the socks, because I’ve reached the age when socks are now a great present.
And Mrs F’s on Friday. It was cold in Scotland in December 1965.
Well, trying to pinpoint my moment of conception I worked out that 9 months before my birth was Christmas Eve 1968. I’m surprised about that, cos there’s normally something good on the telly on Christmas Eve. But looking at the TV listings for the BBC you had Cilla on one side, a play on the other and then there was a Stanley Holloway film on ITV that must have seemed ancient even in 1968, so that explains it. It was a good job they didn’t live in London though, cos they had a Carry On film on down there, so I might not even exist at all. Having said all that, Brucie and Cliff had a one hour special on at 9, so f I wanted to pinpoint the moment it would be a toss up between before 9 or after 10. My dad was a randy bugger and he couldn’t have risked a few hymns by Cliff making my mum feel all holy and virginal, so it will have been some point between getting home from the factory and 9. It was a Tuesday, so didn’t clash with his bath day, so that will have bought him a bit of time…
As long as I wasn’t a day early and they snuck off during the Queen’s speech. That would have been in poor taste, although it would explain my views on the monarchy.

Happy Birthday, @Paul-Wad, and thanks for the extra information. I clearly had no idea what you meant before. Lovely idea you’ve now planted in my head about Christmas 1967…
Thankyouverymuch!
I was 2 weeks overdue anyway,, but you can’t really make fun of December the 10th.
It’s John Coltrane’s birthday too.
.
Julio Inglesias, Karl Pilkington and Walter Pidgeon also born on September 23rd.
And Nicholas Witchell!
Happy birthday 🥳! Floella Benjamin too, who I’m startled to find out is the same age to the day as Springsteen at 71. And I thought he was wearing well.
She’s lovely. I worked on a charidee lunch that she hosted a few years ago. I wish all jobs were like that. She was really entertaining on this too, talking to Victoria Coren about cars
