The great man is 80 today. Here’s some silent film from a show in 1973, taken by Rich Zimmermann, which I edited to a tune that was played that night, and which a fair amount of the film clearly related to – albeit that we had to use soundboard audio from a different night as the Milwaukee soundboard was incomplete. It works surprisingly well. 🙂

Remarkable.
Absolutely fantastic playing, especially from Mr Beck, but almost completely unrecognisable as “These Boots Are Made For Walking”. To these untrained ears at any rate.
My civilian sister would no doubt cite this as an example of “Why can’t they just play the tune?”
I, on the other hand, would just listen and enjoy the interplay of the instruments.
