I’m looking for something which will convert my spidery hand scratchings to accurate formatted text for a lengthy piece of writing..
Does anyone have any suggestions for either a specific gizmo or an app for either MS laptop or iPad..

iPad (w apple pen) by far the best I’ve used is what was called nebo and is now my script notes. I take board minutes and the conversation to text afterwards is pretty good – caveat all of them will struggle with doctor style squiggles.
I’ve been using the Google keyboard on an android phone and the voice to text works really well. You learn which words to articulate clearly but as a way of getting easy text it’s handy.

Well, apart from not having a mobile phone or a microphone to my computer, I’d have to try speaking Danish, which famously is compared to gargling with porrige, so not very easy for a Swede to do (or understand, unless they speak slowly and try to articulate, or speak English…)
Actually, I’d be amazed if it works for Swedish, after the experiences I have of automated services over the phone, like calling for a taxi, where the system never understands the addresses, no matter how clearly you articulate, and you end up having to speak to an operator anyway, every time! I’ve now started to demand an operator at the first question, to cut out a lot of unnecessary waste of time.

Google Gemini (their AI tool) can do this. Installing the app on your phone is best, because you can just point your phone at the page. It can also organise into a notebook for you.
Google Lens will do it too.
