Route have been responsible for some of my all time favourite music books (Steve Hanleys ‘The Big Midweek’, Paul Hanleys ‘Have A Bleedin Guess’) so i’m excited about this, although I did expect Nige Tassell would do one at some point!
Hopefully there will be a talk about this sometime in the future at The Cat Club Pontefract as there is a strong link between Route and The Cat Club.

A mate of mine is a big fan, and he got us tickets to see them a few years ago. As you point out, @seanioio, the audience is incredibly into it – I don’t think I’ve seen a more passionate fanbase.

I love the lyrics and the wit. Such a shame they’re often buried in the mix and that the music seems to be an afterthought.
I’m not so sure that I’d want to read a book about them, but what I am sure of is that National Shite Day is one of the greatest songs ever written.
And should be the new National Anthem.
