As none of us safe until all of us are safe and the vaccines we take for granted are the faintest of faint hopes for millions of poor fuckers across Africa and Asia, here’s a nice way to give something back.
While this appeal is from UNICEF Ireland, am sure your country’s UNICEF office will be doing something similar

That’s an excellent suggestion!
Living in a welfare state like Sweden, it’s very easy for me to take free Covid vaccination for granted.
I’m a little surprised that it is Unicef that is running the campaign, as children are the last group in society to get their jabs.
Sorry to be so petty. If Unicef can get us all to make a donation, more power to them!

@Kaisfatdad
Didn’t even think about the fact that UNICEF is mainly for kids.
Am sure there are similar schemes for adults.
Think the important thing is for those of us who’ve had our shots to help out those at the arse end of the queue for jabs in the countries Trump so insensitively described as “shitholes”.
Max the Dog says
I made a small donation a couple of weeks back after my second jab – I saw an advertisement for it in The Sunday Times.

Splendid initiative. This is the sort of thing that governments should be doing. Fat chance of that I guess. Sack them all. Especially the serially dishonest chancers who have recently been taking the public’s shilling.

Um. The UK government is the third largest world donor to COVAX, the WHO’s developing-world vaccination programme, behind only the US and Germany. We’ve donated more than the entire non-Germany EU bloc combined.
So governments *are* doing this sort of thing, and the serially dishonest chancers in question are doing more than almost anyone.

Um yourself. I don’t see HM-Jobs-for-their-boys-Govt putting out comms offering private citizens the opportunity to privately do an extra bit. Unless I missed a memo. Maybe it was an email that got redacted.
Maybe it was an idea from £100,000 per month PR gurus Topham Guerin – they of the £3m ‘Covid-19 Comms Hub’ contract they didn’t even have to bid for – that got binned by the Cabinet Office?

Great initiative – I will donate for sure.

Done!
