I’m of to the Green Man tmw as my 60th birthday approaches…
Do I really need all of this when there are perfectly good episodes of “Cash in The Attic, ” or programmes about retirees buying their dream home in Malaga, which I could / poss should be watching with the aded benefitof a proper bed, access to post WW1 sanitation, etc ?
Anyway,
Ryan Adams, Polly Harvey, Shins,Allah Las, Chris Forsyth, Kate T, Sleafords, Cope, Michael K and many more should keep me occupied.
There are lots of others, but whom should I make sure not to miss ?
Over please to your good selves..

The two which jump out at me are Field Music (XTC-like) and Melt Yourself Down (funky jazz)
It has just occurred to me that Melt Yourself Down remind me of Pigbag.
Sleaford Mods. Insouciant genius by the angry bloke in the fortified pub on the estate and PiL-quality grooves.
Jealous. Looks like a great line-up. Effectively my home festival but I am a long way away. Enjoy!
I’m hoping to see Chris Forsyth in Bristol tonight, before my own festival weekend kicks off at Beautiful Days tomorrow.
I’m trying to imagine the scenario where, when everyone is sat around the table, Colin Hunt pipes up “I know – let’s call ourselves The Deep Throat Choir” and, instead of the whole group as one shouting “F**k Off Colin!”, they say “great, let’s do that”.
I assumed The Orielles were called after the French word for ears, but after a swift Wiki, I see Orielle is also a classical term meaning “golden woman”.
Julian Cope is always worth a punt, although his most recent release is a bit meh….
Ta for your responses.
I’ll investigate wher possible and report back..
Please do. I am beginning to plan for next years jaunts with Green Man high in the pecking order. As is Beautiful Days
