I’m not a fan (I don’t own any of their music) but I watched it and found it very interesting. He’s a very articulate man.

More articulate you would expect from someone who has taken that many drugs, though the hippy attitudes remain. I felt sorry for his (adoptive) parents who must have wondered what they had raised. But very interesting (if you like the Dead)
Fascinating documentary even if you’ve only got a passing interest in the Dead.
I note the Big Star docu is there too. Another good one.
I tried the Bob Weir doc but couldn’t get on with it at all. Never having heard a GD song I’ve liked, the chances weren’t good that I’d enjoy the doc, but I have watched documentaries before on people whose music did nothing for me, and enjoyed them anyway (John Denver for one). I guess I’m just not wired to enjoy the music of the Dead (probably too fond of melody).
The Big Star documentary was OK, nothing world shattering, but it was nice to see some footage (albeit silent) of the band.
