I’ve just set up a new twitter account thingy as gigarchive@gigtickets2.
In it I’ve posted copies of many of my concert tickets going back 30+ years and put a personal memory for each one as to what sticks in my mind the most. They are a mix of punk, rock, indie and more mainstream (so a bit of everything) starting from 1979.
Please feel free to have a browse, post your own tickets, share an experience ….
Most of mine are Midlands based so it would be great to see comments from others who went to the same gigs or maybe another venue on any particular tour.
Ultimately I thought it could be a short and snappy repository for a gigging past.

Jings, I wish I had kept my stubs over the years. I used to keep scrapbooks into which they, and other stuff, was documented, but the 2nd wife didn’t like me having a past ;-(

Yes I was a Wolverhampton lad so the Civic was my venue of choice. However, in 1980 at a Skids concert a group of skinheads smashed a large glass pane at the front of the hall, and they ‘banned’ gigs for about the next 10 years. So I had to move onto Birmingham Odeon (once my mum would let me go). I’m 52 now so can make my own decisions (just about)!
Enjoyed the Siouxsie gig, but Similar to a number of bands – never went to see them again – unless you count the Creatures!
Have always popped each ticket straight in a box (40 years worth) when I got home, in my T-shirt drawer, although some look like I must have sellotaped them into something at sometime. Wife says I am a bit of a hoarder.

Dunno, but I would have about 20. Fabulous live act, from the 80s, already past his prime, to now. Various bands and solo, always a delight. Cool dude too, and very approachable, not difficult as it is maybe pubs that he still plays, except when fronting the Dylan Project.
