Kirsty Young stood down from DID due to her own health problems, which I fear are chronic.
Yes, fibromyalgia, but she’s been making a bit of a comeback recently. Or, at least, I’ve heard her on the radio again
She’s done some TV too.
Fibromyalgia doesn’t stop you from working, exactly- but it does mean that you have periods where you can’t do much, and other times you can manage it. I have it.
Yeah, wishing Lauren all the best, of course, but I did titter at the phrase “shot to fame as lead singer … of Kenickie”. (Big bollocks in SewBot towers for sure, but out in the cruel, cold real world..?)

I genuinely wish her well. I’m not sure why, but when I saw this news item I said “Oh, no…!” out loud. Some broadcasters such as her, have that knack of making you feel like you know them. I feel sure that she will recover and have a story to tell.
