True and Bold: A Night for Dick Gaughan
Travelling Folk
Recorded at Celtic Connections 2026, we have highlights of the True and Bold: A Night for Dick Gaughan concert, put together to celebrate one of Scotland’s most significant folk singers and songwriters.
Featuring an incredible host of musicians, including Siobhan Miller, Billy Bragg, Ricky Ross & Lorraine McIntosh, Lisa O’Neill and Paul McKenna, the concert celebrates Dick’s amazing back catalogue and even features an appearance from the man himself.

Thanks Colin I’m out tonight but I’ll have a listen later.
These days I find the voice of Sir William of Bragg completely unlistenable, good bloke as he undoubtedly is.
Was it filmed, Colin? Not yet on iPlayer, from what I can find.
@fentonsteve it’s there this morning – audio only – fire up get_iplayer and grab a copy; it’ll happily download the audio in M4A format.
get_iplayer –url=”https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002scz0″
That’s TWO hyphens before the url= statement.
Yeah, up for 29 days. But it’s Sounds (audio), not iPlayer (video). Hence my confusion.
I hired two pro cameramen independently, with a view to having it in the can in the event that there might be a new TV Gaughumentary at some point. The BBC sound recorded it only.
Right. Thanks for unconfusing me. Have I just invented a new word?
Perhaps – though I might have outdone you with ‘Gaughumentary’. 🙂
You deserve a very honourable mention in the end of year lists for that one. Keep on Gaughan in the free world!
Nice!
Leffe Gin wins the white carnation! Best of the year so far!
I’m preparing my speech.
