Seen quite a bit of this sad news on the Socials. Seems he was loved and respected. Treason was my favourite.
Kilimanjaro is one of my favourite albums. Bangers from start to finish. Sadly they were a pretty fucked up band though
By spooky coincidence I was listening to the TX box-set from a few years back this very morning before I read this news… for genuine pop contenders, they were an incredibly strange band, the (fantastic) singles belie a host of bonkers B-sides and demos…

Wasn’t all Copey, Alan Gill initially came up with their biggest hit Reward (the music)
Also a coincidence I was watching this excellent documentary a few days ago, Dwyer features in it
Blimey Ian Broudie could have been the Freddie Garrity of the Liverpool punk scene (from that still, at least)
Coincidentally, Reward is the final track in my pre-recorded Charity Shop Classics show to be broadcast on Sunday morning. My 7″ copy was 99p from Oxfam in St Ives (the one in Cambs, not Cornwall). Parptastic.
One of the best gig I’ve been to was The TE on the week Kilimanjaro was released. The group were dressed up as on the LP cover. GD was an immense drummer.
