A few years ago I painstakingly converted my albums and some singles of Zimbabwean pop from the halcyon days of the early 80s editing out pops and clicks etc. Took forever.
I sent them off to my friend Matt Temple who now runs Matsuli Records in London.
He is making the 4 volumes available for download.
The pictures are from my time seeing bands in Harare 1981/82.

Wowsie! The first pic with the Queens Hotel flyer, I know exactly where that is, down near the bus station (I think); saw a white and drunk vagrant doing a Mark E there, eliciting much confusion from the blacks milling all around him. (Fair confused me, too.) I look to downloading these with some pleasure, thanks, Junior, even after profoundly kicking my fair points 😉
