This tune sprung to mind tonight and, at last it’s appeared on you tube (wasn’t there the last time I looked. Still not on Spotify). A real forgotten classic of the 80’s… Anyone else got a suggestion of a tune you remember which is either not on spotify or you tube?

They used this for a lager commercial didn’t they? The one with the TV showing folks in rags pushing a ball sisyphus-style up a hill and then letting it roll down so it broke the screen and they could get the beer (Spoiler alert!). Was it Tennant’s or MacEwan’s?
“…Uh! Tears Baby” is the strong contender for the worst album title ever.

McEwan’s! Funny thing is I was remembering it as Tennant’s. Reminds of those adverts with Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins in the 80s that apparently everybody remembers as Martini ads despite the fact that they were advertising Cinzano.

Tricky! There are holes, but between the two of them, they do cover a lot of bases.
But if anyone can find the holes, it’s the AW!

I had that single – I think it was released a few times without getting very high in the charts.

but then realised the link was from Youtube…
I actually have this on 7 inch, probably bought from Selectadisc.

If you’re talking Market Street Nottingham I can have a Proustian rush.
If you’re talking the London one I’ll just remember that bloody Oasis album and feel a bit sick.
Kid Dynamite says
ooh, I used to go to the Nottingham one all the time when I was a student in, er, Nottingham.

Well, apart from the fact it clearly is on the youtube, here’s a little cracker I always loved, buying the single immediately, as it was playing in the record shop that graced Sidcup’s High Street in 1981. Excellent shop near an excellent Indian resto, the Anarkali. Bet both long gone, much like the band.

Not forgotten here. One of the few 12-inch singles I owned. Love it.

I tried all week to think of one for this, but Youtube has beaten me at every turn. The closest thing is this song from Andy White’s long lost first album (which used to played on Laser 558, of all things) that somebody has put up just this week, so it nearly counts.
