i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
I have just discovered ee Cummings, and I have fallen very heavily.

My sister had me read this at her wedding last year (Just I drew breath to start a small child in the gathering exclaimed, ‘I want Peppa Pig’ ‘I’m sorry, darling, but I’ve only got ee cummings with me.’)
I’ve just remembered, I read it aloud a couple of times as we got suited and booted in our hotel room. After the first run through The Light looked puzzled and asked me, ‘Who’s Lorraine?’
For years I thought the chorus of Lou Reed’s Wild Child was “and then we spoke of the rain”
Until about five seconds ago, so did I. And I’ve been listening to that song for more than 40 years
Le Trump has smaller hands than Lorraine. I GUARANTEE it.
Big fan here. His love poems are wonderfully passionate, not to say lustful.
Your Little Voice
your little voice
Over the wires came leaping
and i felt suddenly
dizzy
With the jostling and shouting of merry flowers
wee skipping high-heeled flames
courtesied before my eyes
or twinkling over to my side
Looked up
with impertinently exquisite faces
floating hands were laid upon me
I was whirled and tossed into delicious dancing
up
Up
with the pale important
stars and the Humorous
moon
dear girl
How i was crazy how i cried when i heard
over time
and tide and death
leaping
Sweetly
your voice
