Anyone folding by the oak this year? I was to be in Spain, but Mrs Path remained too unwell, if getting, hooray, better, to allow it, but I do have a day pass for this day long shindig. For me, I have to follow Hatfield and the South signposting, but it is a good and varied line-up, featuring Bear’s Den, Kate Rusby, Project Smok, Orchestra Baobab amongst several others. A mini-mingle might be nice, if only to shelter from the predicted 30 degree temps.

We usually go but passed this year. We’d never heard of Bears Den (they have sold out The Royal Albert Hall, so that will be my fault as they’re clearly far from obscure) and what I heard when I checked them out was all rather meh. It’s always a very civilised day out though. I don’t think there are many festivals where you will find a Pimm’s tent.
Orchestra Baobab with 30 degrees sounds great perfect temperature for listening to them.
Hope Mrs Path is better soon.
Every time I go it’s either baking hot or pissing rain so out of fairness to everyone else I’m giving it a miss. Here’s me watching an underwhelming This The Kit.
I have wanted to see Orchestra Baobab ever since @Vulpes-Vulpes wrote a stonking review about them on here. Alas not to be.
Yes, Orchestre Baobab is the standout in the lineup, but it’s never going to make sense for me to trek all the way to the Home Counties for a single day festival.
It’ll just be me, then. I am a big fan of Bear’s Den, myself, and feel outdoors and folk a better home for them than indie.
It’s forecast to piss down. Good luck.
Mmmmm, it depends on whether the 24 hour thunder storm for Saturday finishes in time for another 30 degree scorcher. Neither hugely appeal…..
The problem is there’s no shade. If there were a few copses of trees to commune under it would be fine.
Even if the showers hold off it doesn’t look like shade will be essential.
I meant generally.
