Just read that Professor Bruce Lacey has died.
Fairport wrote a song about him, his robots appeared on the track,
He played the role of George Harrison’s flute-playing gardener in Help.
A one-off.

What an absurdly bonkers, absurdly talented chap. Well worth a mention here.
And nice to hear the young, pre-Liege Fairports.
Here’s some film of Mr Lacey from Ken Russell.

Worth having a peruse at this too, saw him perform at Cropredy one year, it involved removing clothing. ( His not ours). The local press were a bit shocked, headline something on the lines of ” Nudity at Festival”

I went to his birthday party a few years ago. Fancy dress. The man wearing a suit made out of real turf (watered from his top hat) didn’t win, and I suspected a fix.

Sorry @H.P. Saucecraft but you can’t just leave it at that. I need more tales from the party.
