A few months ago I put up an appeal for any of our musicians out there to do me a cover version of a particular song, with Twang coming up trumps, as in the vid included here. This time I am looking for a version of “Lies”, a Rolling Stones standard issue boogie from “Some Girls”. So any bedroom gurners or garage studio whizzes out there willing to fulfil the challenge? Please.
Happy just for a file, I can do a rudimentary youtube if needs be, but @Twang rose effortlessly to that challenge too. Polish up your battered acoustic, your analog synths or even, thinking of no-one in particular, your best acapella.

Well done Twang.
A marvelous combination of music and images. I take my hat off to you!
Good luck with the new song, Retro. This will be a hard act to follow!
Cheers KFD!
Good effort @Twang Excellent
Thanks Dai!
He’s got some awkward chord shapes that Elvis Costello chap! Bravo!
Thanks!
Here’s the original to plan from
I’m loving the idea of this thread. My home studio sits in a state of disrepair but this might just be the impetus to get myself back into gear. Not this one though.
G’wan, you know you want to. I’m gonna make you a star!!! Twangs phone has barely started ringing.
Really good version Twang
Thanks Banger!
It’s good to see all the love for the excellent Twang rendition, but surely there are a few who wish also to get the same love? And could.
Have a practice in the shower tonight, plug in that vintage korg, battered telecaster, whatever……..
Quite brilliant @Twang
You’re very kind Beeze.
Well, I have a contender, an old chum coming up trumps, as an onetime “name” record producer, he liberated to me this bizarre cover, one of a project by a Silas Hovely, an apparent oddball who defied lack of any musical talent with an enthusiasm to cover all the works of the Rolling Stones, however loosely. The video is mine, using a file sent from a long since deleted MySpace entry. Sadly, at least so far, this is the only track I have been granted, that requiring the express permission, it seems, of the reclusive and eccentric auteur.
Thoughts? Beyond the obvious WTactualF, I can, um, admire the intent, but, beyond the enthusiasm of Hovely, I can find little to love.
Nobody listened yet?
Wiggy!
