Anyone planning to watch it this afternoon?
Good to see the McLaren team stepping up yesterday – would be nice if they could get into the high points today, but I have my doubts. Personally, I’ve followed Williams for more than a decade – ups and downs would be putting it mildly, so it’s great to see them improving.

Full disclosure: I’ll be watching it all.
Colonoscopy booked for tomorrow – so I can’t leave the house today, due to – er – issues…might as well watch the full programme – build up, race, analysis afterwards.
And the pause button, for those moments when I need to be in another place.
Oh. Hope all’s ok Fitz.
@retropath2 calls it the Jacksie Telescope. I’ve had it done several times, one where the nurse was an ex-student.
Good luck.
Fitter, I’ve had several Up-Periscopes. The preparation the day before is – disconcerting – and far worse than the procedure. Hope all goes well.
Thank you all.
Whilst in no way unsympathetic to those who have had and need scoping, with especial best for @fitterstoke, I recall nicking x-prep from the ward when I was a junior doc. In those days, tied to a bleep, there was never any guarantee you could sit down for a moment. With consequences. X prep, um, works well. Best reserved for a day off, mind.
Shocking behaviour, @retropath2!
Did you ever hook yourself up a bag of fluid and some oxygen for a hangover cure (along with the usual – paracetamol/ranitidine/metoclopramide)? Or is that an urban myth among junior docs?
We didn’t have time for hangovers in our day…..
Hence the rapid recovery pack?
Sorry, didn’t mean to suggest yes. I suspect urban mythology but Lord knows what they got up to in the provincial centres. @tiggerlion ?
Up North, real men drank seven pints of mild before tea and more afterwards. We couldn’t function normally without the beer.
Certainly wouldn’t want to drink the water, unless thoroughly boiled for mashing strong tea.
I went to the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, it was …… pretty boring
Cheers, Dai! 🙂
Enjoy your colonoscopy! Have had many
I’ve read that the prep is worse than the procedure – as of now, I’m prepared to believe it.
Yes, generally that is the case
I’m watching.
Still trying to work out where McLaren found that performance in qualifying.
Williams is fast so Silverstone should be a good track for them (well, Albon anyway. Not convinced with Sargent’s abilities)
No interest in the sport, but I’ve just seen this. ‘kinnell!
I saw it on the telly – a scary moment! Not sure who encouraged him to do it – or, indeed, booked him for the gig!
Woof! I take it all back – P2 and P4 for McLaren!
And points for Williams!
Pretty good race too – at least there was some overtaking.
Hopefully the last couple of races weren’t a “freak” for McLaren, and they actually have a decent car and can continue with the front-runners
Just need to work out how to sabotage Max Verstappen – maybe surreptitiously add a bag of cement to his car. Or make him tow a caravan.
Yes, it was enjoyable – Norris holding off Hamilton after the stoppage was nail-biting stuff. And Albon! Williams overtakes Ferrari shocker!
Cars going round in a circle. Mmmm, niiiice.
Philistine!!
Sorry, @Twang – what I meant was: room for all shades of opinion, boring if we all liked the same thing, etc; basically the same little speech I trot out when my prog heroes get a kicking. 🙂
No I think philistine was fair. It was a fairly low grade post. True, mind. 🥴
