Venue:
Komedia, Bath
Date: 22/08/2016
Another performer who was new to me until very recently, but 3 albums quickly became real favourites – as recommended here by @badartdog! Thanks bdog!
Ezra comes across quite intense – heart on the sleeve, but not preachy, he seems artlessly sincere and funny too. Great songs and great show. A really rocking band having a high old time, playing 90 minutes of raucous rock and roll thrash, full of doo-wops and catchy choruses, and plenty of sax. He’s got a few more UK dates coming up – strongly recommended.
The audience:
Wide age range and high energy for a Monday Night – always good to know there are a few with less hairline and more waist line than me.
It made me think..
A bigger venue than I usually go for but plenty of space and good sight lines. I remember ABC Minors matinees here.
Good stuff – but it was nogbad not me
oops – thanks @nogbad 🙂
Thanks for this, yet again your favourites overlap uncannily with mine. I second your recommendation, go see him while he’s still playing venues in which you can see the whites of his eyes. Here’s one of my most treasured possessions, gleaned from the Portland Arms in Cambridge a couple of years ago:

A real heirloom. Personally I wouldn’t want to pay to see anyone if I can’t see the whites of their eyes…or read their set list upside down – though I haven’t seen one on a plate before. The wackiness and the other baggage about get-up might be a bit annoying if he/they weren’t such a flipping’ good rock and roll act!
Ta Anton and BDog glad everyone enjoyed him. His Green Man show was banging. Once I’m back on a slightly less steam driven wifi I’ll post some more stuff about the weekend. You have been warned. The Guardian gave it 5 stars and there were people in tears during the Miracle Legion set.
A few people there on Monday were enthusing about EF&B at Green Man and Green Man in general….looking forward to your report.
Take me I’m yours….
That may have killed the thread but he’s got a new EP out 🙂 – make a big noise to the sky;
3.30!!
