I understand that she wanted to form an easy-listening country-rock band with various family members in the 70s, but they just couldn’t think of a name for it.
The first candidate for the Labour Party leadership that can get this song adopted for the next National Conference will get my vote at the next election. Found in a charity shop today. Sadly the introduction by Harold Wilson on the b-side is badly scratched. Perhaps that nice Jeremy/Angela can record a new introduction for the modern party anthem.
For those of us in Oz, just waking up around now (except for Johnny C, who has been listening to “the Beano album” for 17 days straight, well on his way to a world record), let’s do the Eagle Rock!
See the bloke in the chef’s hat at 0.25? That’s bass player Wayne Duncan. I’ve sold him several records over the years. He’s a bit fussy and tends to complain over the smallest thing.
Ah, I see – my turn of phrase ‘those of us’. I was just being inclusive. Perhaps I should have been semi-detached and said ‘those among us’. Funny how that slight change removes any ambiguity…
You just beat me to it! Brilliant!
Underneath it was this even scarier headline:
Eagle carried off policeman’s adopted kangaroo.
How is she finding time for all this bizarre behaviour – and on a far-from-nearby continent – while trying to topple Jeremy Corbyn?
I think you’ll find she’s trying to carry off Jeremy Corbyn. Maybe she’ll topple him first, I don’t know if that makes it easier.
She’s a woman of many talons
🙂 Fantastic!

Bessie Braddock! I’d forgotten about her…they don’t make ’em like that any more.

Are you in Australia right now, Colin?
what sort of stuff does he buy?
It was rare 60s Aussie stuff I think. Singles and EPs
that would make sense
Why do you think I’m in Oz, JC? I hardly ever travel out of Ireland!
