Musings on the byways of popular culture
The CD single of Easter Theatre has ten minutes or so of Andy Partridge in his shed studio talking about how the song came about. Dave Gregory has said that the first germ of the song was just a grungy riff. The finished thing – and River of Orchids and Green Man – show how much XTC evolved as a band from their first album.
‘Now the son has died, the father can be born’.
