No, not that one. Saturday night, Lords and no kick off time shenanigans, no curfews broken. Drinks breaks that don’t trigger booing and a video review system that the captains control. Yes, England Women take on favorites Australia in the final of the T20 tournament.
I’ve watched more women’s games than men’s this season, and I’m really enjoying it. Somerset Women would be strong title contenders were it not for the loss of their 3 best players to the England squad – one of the biggest weaknesses of the sport, given they’ve been absent since May. The ball isn’t hit so far, and the standard varies a little but I’d take this any day over the clown show of the men’s 4 day Test team.
England’s semi final against South Africa saw some magnificent bowling from SA’s Marizanne Kapp that had England at 23 for 3, but former captain Heather Knight and returning captain Nat Sciver-Brunt put on a 133 run masterclass with the latter clocking 75 runs off of 47 balls.
Sadly the final will is paywalled by Sky, but I’d commend it to anyone with access.

A number of matches have been on Sky Mix (channel 11 on Freeview). The final is scheduled to be on that as well – so not behind the paywall.
We’ve watched a few of the games which is more than I can say about the Trumpton shenanigans across the pond. In fact, we were in Taunton for the last of their warmup games against India. As a result, I can name more of the T20 team than one player.I know in the football team.
So, the final at Lords is highly recommended.
