… but he was never there.
An atrocious Elvis experience, punters charged up to 300 quid for “Super VIP” which includes a mid-show champagne experience, commemorative glass, dedicated seating, a drink at each of the three bars and cloakroom access. Bargain!
“Mrs Baldwin said that the show was “absolutely atrocious” and thought she had paid the money for a once in a lifetime experience but “you could have seen this at the local theatre for £30”.
“It was a shambles from start to finish, there was no Elvis, it was just a video of him that you could watch on YouTube,” she said.”

The Winter Wonderland experience comes early.
What was that about ‘wise men say…’?
Remember PT Barnum too
It apparently had (genuinely) mixed reviews according to the article, with some reviewers actually thinking it was pretty good. I think it’s the pricing that is the real issue here – makes Oasis tickets look like a snip.
We ultimately took the creative decision not to mimic Elvis’s performances. Those moments proved to be be too iconic and irreplaceable.
Or we couldn’t get permission from Elvis’s estate to enable us to create something along the lines of ABBA:Voyage.
You can see any number of Elvis impersonators across the country virtually feee of charge Why bother with this nonsense?
It’s an “experience”
There can’t be an artist in the world whose image is burdened by as much tat as Elvis Presley.
The irony is… and I own none of this… I don’t think there’s an artist who has more quality CD/LP reissues and photographic books to their name than… erm… Elvis Presley!
I’m happy with the 50s LPs on those old 1990s CDs, but the stuff that has come out on the Follow That Dream label over the years looks phenomenal.
If you’re going to fork out hundreds, why not buy the quality?
I concur.
I have a Gracelands biro and when you angle it Elvis in his pink Cadillac slides gently from one end to the other. I love it. I’ve also got a TCB “stained glass effect” window sticker which I have yet to find a window I like enough to stick it on. Bought in the Gracelands gift shop in 1996.
I plan to visit in October. Want a fridge magnet?
