20 years on from suffering a stroke and two haemorrhages, we’re all blessed he’s able to do these last few dates.

I’ve always been a fan of Orange Juice and Edwyn, so this gives me a bit of a lump in my throat. Will try to get along to one of these.
I do hope he’s in the best of health but I can just imagine that with his well documented disability, not to mention the economics of touring these days, it’s just too much once you get to a certain age. The guy has been a massive influence on a certain strand of guitar music and should be regarded as a real pioneer.
This will indeed be poignant. I have seen him twice post aneurism and he was excellent both times.
Also had the pleasure of meeting him at Houston airport at the end of an SXSW festival and he was charming and engaging. He wanted to know what I thought of his band and I said they were excellent to which concurred. Don’t know what he would have said if I told him they were shite!!!
In case it’s passed people by Edwyn ‘dropped’ his new album yesterday, Nation Shall Speak Unto Nation. I’m 6 listens in and I like it a lot. Another fine (final?) addition to a wonderful career. Certainly better than we have any right to expect from a 65 year old who almost died 20 years ago and has had his struggles ever since.
Sadly can’t make any of those dates, which means I’ll never see him live, but so it goes. There’s always the music.
He was good on Front Row the other night. Edwyn struggled a bit with the interview – Grace had to step in a couple of times – but his singing voice was in fine form.
He said he’ll carry on messing around in the studio, but will no longer tour.

Thanks for that. If only we could all have Grace Maxwell in our lives!
Great album on my first two listens. He has said that although this is his last tour he still intends to make music.
