I eschewed the opportunity to post ‘Cool Clear Water’ by these boys, The Sons Of The Pioneers, largely on the grounds of ‘too obvious’ but also partly because this is just a better song…
… but mostly because the SOTP wrote and released it in 1934, slap-bang in the middle of the OG Dustbowl.
Nanci nails it.
I must say you’re all very sanguine about End Times hitting Blighty first and hardest. It must be the meds. Nice rainy season here, river at a healthy level, plants bursting out of the ground.
Spotted this rather terrifying satellite pic the other day.
Yeah, it looks like rain in Scotland. How will they cope?
The heats for this year’s Searching for lost coins in the Heather competition has been delayed by a few weeks, but otherwise no worries. They’re a sanguine lot, the Scots
Which horseman will get us first? Pestilence has had a good run but seems to be fading, War got a bit stuck in the mud, Famine is working its way up from the poorest to the rest of us, and… who’s the other one? Truss? Just a couple of months away.
Pestilence in “not actually an Apocalyptic horseman” shocker!
Famine and War are definitely in there, though.
I think the fourth horseman may have been D’Artagnan.
Or Sneezy.
Apocalyptic hoseman, you mean.
Thankfully living in Yorkshire it doesn’t apply. I can go round my garden spraying and squirting liberally for the next two weeks.
Yebbut…
…there’s a bye-law about *that* as well.
Apparently.
Source: lived in Yorkshire for many years. Still not allowed back.
I’d dig you a tunnel to get back in, but the earth’s frightfully hard
Sorry, by ‘eck t’earth’s reet aaad tha knows, laak
Pretty sure the original line-up was Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snork. Sneezy came in for the later tours, after Snorky had a bit of an issue with the old trunk candy.
Now you mention it, I think you’re absolutely right.
And Sneezy did his best but, if I’m honest (and I am, as the day is long), he was no Snorky was he? To be fair, I think even Sneezy himself would put his hand up to that, bless him.
Four horsemen and come September we’ll have our fourth tory pm over a 12 year period.
Coincidence I think not.
Good point, well made.
Also, I’ve just realised that ‘horsemen’ contains ‘semen’. It just sorta jumped right out and hit me in the eye.
So that in itself must have some sort of significance, right, in terms of semiotics an’ that?
Stings apparently
