I live not far, by our standards, from the southernmost tip of the Australian mainland.
Electromagnetic doodahs made it a great night for viewing the Southern Aurora.
Hope imgur works for you.

Looking good – also on Flickr

There was a good display of the Aurora Borealis last night here in the UK. Of course where I live it was cloudy.
Same here. 100% chance the app said…
I’ve been seeing photos from Kent.
North of the Medway they’d be Kentish photos.
Well it was actually Herne Bay, so no.
I am not looking at the internet here, purely relying on a conversation with some bloke I talked to once in the 90s. He said that a “Man from Kent” is from north of the Medway and a “Kentish Man” is south of the Medway. Or the other way around.
Bloke was having you on. It’s east or west of the Medway. I am a Man of Kent as well as a Man of Murwillumbah.
Murwillumbah means Place of Many Beards. (I may have made this up.)
If you were looking southwards from Swindon, would they be Marlborough lights?
Visible last night (to those without cloud cover) as far south as Italy.

Sang the Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen a million times back in the day – only time in 20 years I saw them, they were a hazy green thing somewhere over Norway. Now apparently they happen every night – is that just because now modern phones pick up what my eyes couldn’t see?
It’s cyclical we were in a high period of sun flare activity in 2024 it’ll ease off from now.

Once again when they are supposed to be visible there was bugger all in Lichfield.
They are elusive to me. I have visited Iceland, Finland, Norway and Sweden without seeing them.
One time on a night flight back from Thailand the pilot told us there was a great view of the Northern Lights on the right side of the plane. We were sitting on the left
We’re in the land of the long grey cloud this week, hopefully might see some when it clears up.
I had a message from an ex work colleague that they’d been sighted over Thirsk/ Northallerton so I had a drive out into the darkness. Nada; nothing; nowt.
There’s been a solar flare with a large CME so fingers crossed for later.
