Blimey Niall you have been through it and I must admit I had the odd tear in my eye as I read through your latest dairy extract. Hopefully onwards & upwards from now on mate .
A lot of that brought back memories for me, especially trying to get a reasonable sample. So hard to get through all that, thanks for writing so beautifully about it and glad you are home.
You have my sympathies. I recently had to do Plenvu bowel prep. and it doesn’t get any easier.
I remember backpacking round Egypt with my future Best Man. We made it to Luxor and I was struck down on our first evening. He went out sightseeing the following morning, and came back at lunchtime to find me dehydrated and slightly doolally.
“The Immodium packet says take if you have more than four bowel motions in one day. I’ve had 13 in the last hour. Do you think I should take some?”
Glad to hear you’re on the mend. Take care of yourself.
Holy moly…happy to hear you survived and are safely at home again after that ordeal!
Poor Janet, getting all the blame…AND doing the clean-up duties. You’ve both had a miserable couple of weeks, take good care of each other now and only do fun things!
Well that took some reading but glad you got through it. Sounds like it was very demeaning and I suspect that may have been the hardest part.
And yes I can concur impossible to have a poo with peering at the same time for men (not a question I have asked my better half).
As the resident woman on The Afterword, I’ll put you all out of your misery…
No; we can’t either. Only if the poo isn’t as urgent and we’ve had time to empty the bladder prior to the next need making itself known. But even then the occasional splash will suddenly make its way out.
So now you know (and don’t have to ask silly questions of your wives, making them wonder what the hell kind of subjects you discuss on that weird website you always frequent…) You’re welcome! ๐

@Bejesus Thank you. Yes, that was a tough one to write ๐
Wow. That was a really powerful read. Very impacting. Thanks for sharing.
@Gary Thank you ๐
Tough to read, lasagne with chips? ๐

@Locust Thatโs the plan. Thanks.
Sending you straight home in your condition? What a bunch of Royal Berks!
What a saga. Good on you for coming out the other side, and for maintaining some vestiges of your sense of humour through it all.
You should sign Steve up for The Afterword.
@mikethep Good idea and, thanks ๐
But heโs working age!
So am I! 68.
Glad to hear that you made it through your ordeal safely and hopefully thereโs no more setbacks on the road to full recovery.
Take care.
@Chrisf Thanks ๐
Crikey!
@Vincent Exactly!

@Locust Why, thank you ๐
@SteveT Thanks ๐
What a dreadful ordeal! What did they expect in someone immunosuppressed? These bugs loom large when your blood count has been blasted.
At least you are closer to the end of the course of treatment than the beginning.
@Tiggerlion Thank you ๐
