Hang in there Niall! I’m full of admiration for the way you and Janet handle this fight. Dressing up smartly, enjoying your gourmet meals, making the best of here and now and planning for life after chemo.
And showing your gratitude to the nurses along the way. Well done!
I hope you’ll feel much better soon, after this rough week of treatments.
On Saturday afternoon, we set off on foot from Felbrigg to West Runton beach. I had on a t-shirt and a micro-fleece. Despite the coastal breeze I was soon too hot for the fleece, and had to return to get my UPF50 long-sleeve top.
Yes, it is a pain but, I’ve had the chemo UV burn and I don’t want it again. The skin blisters were only the beginning – I felt like I was being thrashed with stinging nettles for days.
Thanks for posting Niall – I donβt know how to respond. You are 3 months older than me and I agree cancer or not we donβt have long on this planet so I am hoping that you come through this stronger and get to go on that trip to the antipodes.
For me now Red Kites willl be forever associated with your journey. I love them and hope they give you solace. .
And by the way that tart looks bloody gorgeous I love fresh raspberries
Another very informative and insightful read and well done to you both for staying so strong . Talking of strong I think your beloved Spurs might have come into a bit of form just at the right time .
Your updates continue to be inspiring and it’s obvious you are making great progress, I would defy anyone not be be fed up with the chemo routine. Hang in there, its getting close to completion.
I noticed your reference to reduced horizons, but even when they apply there’s still a lot to enjoy. And I’m jealous of all those lovely meals you’re getting at home.
As for Spurs, first time in months that I’ve felt optimistic.
Another excellent and illuminating read.

Hi Niall,
I spent most of Tuesday wrestling with utterly trivial first-world challenges, so your Tuesday really puts mine into perspective.
However, I’ve now had a much better Wednesday, and I trust you have to! All the best.
@Vulpes-Vulpes Thank you, my friend. Yes, much improved π
Continued best wishes for the recovery.
