No doubt about it for me. Jackson Browne’s “Running On Empty”. It’s sound-tracked my life since about 1980.
Great choice,cant wait to see him in Vicar St in here in Dublin on Mon 12th,usually plays superb selection from throughout his career but i wouldnt mind hearing either this or LFTS in their entirety!
Revolver, remastered in mono. I would lick colourful toads and play Tomorrow Never Knows all night.
I disqualified John Coltrane Live At The Village Vanguard on the grounds that I really need the Master Takes, which is not a single disc. Revolver has to go because I simply have to have Paperback Writer & Rain that I have inserted on my iPod version and that’s cheating.
Therefore, it’s Tom Waits -Swordfishtrombones, a fabulously strange and wonderful album with twists, turns and peculiarities, that exists in its own universe. Youtube doesn’t do it justice. This interpretation of Frank’s Wild Years is the best I can do, a one minute forty second track that captures an entire lifetime and renders the follow up album, Frank’s Wild Years virtually redundant.
Thanks for that,i will give it a listen,always mean to….off for a few days so no excuses,i mean to investigate him and Nick Cave but end up playing the usual stuff!
