   Terrific band. I like the song and it bodes well for the new album.

   The mix is a bit weird, though. There are times when it sounds like the band is playing from inside a big cardboard box.

   I like Dawes. They’re not the kind of music I normally listen to but they have a musicality about them I find really appealing. This new song is a case in point. I really like the guitar riff and I like the spacey mix which accentuates the tone of the snare drum and the reverb. They excel in the simple things.

   I can only think of Dawes as a maker of unsexy and slightly clunky bicycles. Seriously, they’re a band? Dreadful name. Next – the new single from Triange.

     It just makes me expect the drumming to be rubbish… and played by someone in a gigantic romper suit
