Dawes have been using Bandcamp Friday to shift their back catalogue on a Name your price basis.
Today is Stories Dont End.
Not sure if the previous offers still work, because I bought them.
Thought some people might be interested. It would be good to know about other BF offers if anyone has a list.
I found the last album to be mediocre, it was the first studio album by the band I gave a miss. Blake Mills leaving has left a big hole.
That Bandcamp promo? No thank you although the band receive their rightful share of the £€$¥ I don’t do ‘fresh air music’*
*My choice and I’m not entering into any disagreement over it.
No argument from me.
My preference for downloaded files rather than streaming is seen as quaint by my wife and kids.
Physical media is seen by my wife as cluttering the house. She probably has a point.
My wife has never spoke out against my taking over several walls in a mid-sized semi-detached house. Although she did once say if I hitch a ride along the astral plane before she does she was ordering a skip. That was until I showed her the value of my collection.
Anyhow she collects handbags.
I’m a fan of London-based world music label Batov, they’re offering a 23-track sampler album for £1 until midnight at: batovrecords.bandcamp.com/album/around-the-sun-batov-records-10-years
I checked Batov out at Bandcamp @metal-mickey and signed up for notifications.
Oh and I ordered the 2LP set of that sampler album after playing a few tracks. World Music? I love it. I’ll be checking their site out next.
Oh, fantastic! I’ve bought plenty of their stuff over the last few years and have never been disappointed, though I especially like Mulatu Astatke, Sababa 5, Bolbec and Satellites… hope you enjoy!
Virginia Astley has a couple of albums as “name your price”…
