Shocking and very sad news. I`m a fan of BBT and have greatly enjoyed David`s contribution to the band and their music.
Deepest sympathy to David`s family and friends.
R.I.P. David and thank you for the music.
Very sorry to hear this news. As with the Baron, I’ve been listening to the band more or less since they started and appreciated what David brought to the party.
My sympathy to all who knew him…
This is dreadful news. I’ve seen David three times with Big Big Train. It’s a sad loss to the music world but how much more so to his family, friends and colleagues.
RIP David.
Absolutely devastated. I can’t process the news.
I know you were and indeed are a massive fan of the band mate. I’ve seen your various posts over the years and your enthusiasm has always been inspirational. I’m gutted too, and deeply sorry for how you and all David’s loyal admirers are feeling tonight. Bless you sir.
Thanks, Martin.
You turned a lot of people onto his work. We’re here for you.
Thank you 🙏
Oh that’s terrible news. Thoughts to his family and all who loved him.
That is dreadful and unexpected news. As a relatively new convert encouraged by the enthusiasm of the BBT fans here, I feel I was just getting to know the personalities in the band. Very sad for his family and colleagues.
Really shocked by this sad news. David was a terrific talent and a great frontman for Big Big Train. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
What terrible news. Condolences to family, friends and fans.
I have been enjoying Big, Big Train for 4 or 5 years now. I have my car player set to play random selections from an SD Card. It played a track from The Second Brightest Star only yesterday.
Gosh that’s awful news. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
I’ve never knowingly heard any of his music, but nobody should ever go so young or so unexpectedly. My thoughts are with his family.
Big Big Train’s March 2022 UK tour will now not take place; ticket holders should contact their point of purchase for information on refunds. Prior to David’s death the band had been on the verge of announcing a North American tour consisting of over 20 shows in May and June 2022. This projected North American tour will also not be taking place.
The band will be making an announcement next year about its future, including regarding the September 2022 shows that are scheduled to take place in the UK. Ticket holders for these September shows are encouraged to retain their tickets for the time being pending that further announcement. No further comment will be made about the band’s future before next year. The new album will still be released on 28 January as planned.
