I have the live ’74 set, and very good as it is, I prefer the expanded 4 Way Street – more organic sounding. Those huge 70s monster stadium gigs have that bloated bombast vibe, so much so that you can almost have a toot yourself.
I haven’t seen the documentary film, but, a few glaring studio overdubs aside by Neil Young ( I assume), I have a huge soft spot for this album. Flips the bird at some red necks too haha.
I saw them on this tour (their last probably). Despite Living With War not being Neil’s strongest album (played in full) it was one of the greatest concert going experiences of my life.
The documentary plays up the controversy of Neil’s anti Bush agenda probably a little bit more than was the reality. They still played lots of their 70s hits on that tour.
Live 1974 is awesome. Their voices are a bit worn, but some sensational song choices especially from Neil. Pushed it Over the End is worth the admission price alone.

I agree with Rob, the `74 set is great but 4WS sounds different/better.
Thanks for the link Nige, I will watch it later, garden duties call.

It’s looser, warmer, more, dare I say it, organic sounding ?
