Hopefully much that is lost could be recovered.
It’s almost enough to make me forgive them putting the Diamond Light facility in Oxford rather than Daresbury where it should have gone.
This sounds very similar to the tech which recovered those two old Morecambe & Wise shows a few years ago, from film stock which had all but melted into a blob in the canisters, remarkable stuff…
I knew some of M and W’s material was old, but blimey…
Funnily enough I came here to post an old M&W gag. In one of Ern’s historical plays, set in Ancient Rome, he says to Eric:
“Have you got the scrolls?”
Eric replies “No – it’s just the way I walk!”
It’s a bit like how dual-layer DVDs work, innit?
