This October, The Emotional Toothpaste himself releases his (first) memoir/autobiography. Can’t wait. Make sure it’ll fit your stocking, pop-pickers and brace yourself for “Everyday He Writes The Book”-style headlines.

If its anything like the copious sleevenotes he’s written it should be a belter
I think I`ll wait for the Special Edition.
I’m a bit annoyed as there are only one or two chapters that I don’t already have. Will I have to buy the whole book just to get these?!
Where do you get that idea from? The article doesn’t read like that to me.
Sorry, it was a joke based on the Baron’s about the special edition. There are lots of EC releases that only have two or three unreleased tracks. I’ll let you off for not noticing because I forgot that a joke is supposed to be funny!
I got the joke. Although I waiting for the version with Elvis reading it to a lve audience that I’ve had on bootleg for years
It says it covers the four decades of his musical career. So, what’s the next memoir going to concern? His three decades of slightly stiff cameo performances in TV comedy shows?
I trust the book will contain plenty of generous praise for his best mate, Bruce Thomas.
Breathlessly awaiting the chapter on Wreckless Eric….
What was is that some journo said in 1978?
” Stiff artistes? Ok, Wreckless Eric is ‘Norman Wisdom’ to Elvis Costello’s ‘Woody Allen’.”
Ouch.
Would be a good line if it actually meant anything. Tomorrow’s fish n chip paper, la.
I just assumed it was the buffoon/deep thinker split….
Oddly prophetic. Woody Allen went crap in the 90s as well. And has made too many films.
Yeah, that was the gist of the barbed comment. It really pissed off Eric, apparently.
Sadly, fish n’ paper doesn’t exist as wrapping paper for Friday night’s dinner anymore and the internet has put paid to that notion of stuff disappearing into the ether.
Looking forward to it!
