I”d implore individual interests to introduce irrepressible ideas for this ninth trip into the Afterword Alphabet. It may be an irrelevant interlude, but I enjoy every comment posted, be it on music, film, art, literature, dance, whatever.
As long as it begins with ‘I’

Thanks for bearing with me and remember, on this virtual forum, It’s Immaterial:

One of my very favourite songs:

As featured on the soundtrack of “Out of Sight”, the Isley brothers – It’s Your Thing:

Tying together the Emusic (there it is – treat yourself) and jolly good song title threads, here’s Ballboy with We Can Leap Buildings And Rivers But Really We Just Want To Fly:
Two of my favourite films
In Bruges – great, funny, sweary movie, with wonderful performances from Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell
I’ve Loved You so Long – Gripping thriller with the perfect heartbreaking reveal at the end. Kristen Scott Thomas is a mighty fine actress.

Great choices, @davidks – In Bruges is a very funny film. I keep seeing new entries to the Kristen Scott-Thomas canon appearing and thinking – ooh, I must watch some. That one looks very enticing, particularly the lovely language – as squashy and juicy as a ripe peach.
From a band I love
Band of Horses – Is there a Ghost
I confess, I have a soft spot for Imagination, dress sense, silly dance moves and all…
Here’s “Just an Illusion”:
In fact; for them, in this video they are unusually sensibly dressed. For them. Not a bin bag in sight.
And now for something completely different…
Iron & Wine; “Carried Home”:
An old classic from Ison & Fille, “När vi glider”.
Yes, it’s Swedish hip hop again! ( the AW throws hats in the air)
The very funny horror film “The Invisible Man”.
It was either Carmen Miranda or Jim Diamond. Not a hard decision.
A guaranteed floor filler from the Swedes.
Imagined Village blah blah Inge Thomson blah blah
Big folkie favourites for me, full of bleeps and scratches to hit that up-to-date button, but I’ve banged on enough about them before, so here’s their oppos from Italy – Nidi d’Arac

I’m sorry, but I can’t wait till we get to the letter Q to post this.
So I’m going to go for I, the first letter of the first name of Ike Quebec, and this, a track from the peerless “Blue and Sentimental” album from 1961, the year before I was born:
from one of the greatest albums ever made…

this is more like it
The Ink Spots. Close harmony singing like they don’t do it no more.
“The Java Jive”
From the album “i”, this is the unjustly forgotten AR Kane.
Or it would be if the fucking link appeared.
Isaac Guillory. Gone but not forgotten.
“Blues Is Just A Bad Dream / Swingin’ Little Guitar Man”
I, I, I, I….
One of the Duffymeister’s gorgeousest songs.
Indigenous and Indonesian
and in a desperate bid to call @kaisfatdad to the thread, here’s something exotic

I had a go at playing a gamelan a couple of years back. One of the many contributors to the specific sound is the need to damp each note immediately after you’ve played it. Think of that as you hear them rattle up and down that gamelan scale – it takes some co-ordination.
Thanks Cheshire! I’ve been in the heart of Herefordshire all weekend with no internet.
Here from Manchester are I am Kloot.
Great – @kaisfatdad – especially with the video – I din’t realize it was more than a still at first. Christopher Eccleston is so good.
Issa Bagayogo – Dambalou
Sabu Martinez – In Orbit
A band I would love to have seen, Ike & Tina Turner – River Deep Mountain High
Indigo Girls with a gorgeous spring song.
I Muvrini:giving it some serious Corsican welly!
Jon Brion’s not lettin’ his guard down anytime soon (poor girl) – I Believe She’s Lying
I love the odd time signatures in this.
Imani Coppola – Let It Kill You

Inara George sings one o’ my favourite songs of her dad Lowell’s – Trouble
& one of her own
From the ashes of Jellyfish, Imperial Drag – Zodiac Sign
No one’s posted any ISB yet? Koeeoaddi There
This song reminds me of childhood. I was a very “imaginative” child.
Heard this for the first time in ages a few weeks back and it still sounds great.

(“Rudd” – Ikara Colt)
Mark Isham “does” Miles
It makes for a great working afternoon soundtrack – thanks, @declan!
Very fond of this. Ice Cream for Crow
Breaking Bad, the musical? The likeness is quite uncanny.
I Ludicrous, with the now rather poignant “A Pop Fan’s Dream.”
Most poignant, @pessoa – makes me quite wistful for the eighties.
