Toppong our scorecard but smart to see the signs.
He made an interesting comment…..apart from the knocks on the head facing up to Johnson and Starc in the nets is another thing.
You,tend to think about opposition teams copping it and yes the venom no doubt goes up a notch. But imagine the teams of the seventies – Snow, Lillee / Thommo and The Windies quarters pelting thenm at you every nets session.

Hadn’t he already said this was going to be his last series before it even began?
Who do you reckon will be your new opener? England have struggled with that slot for ages
Yes, it is a strange headline. Would be news if he didn’t decide to retire after all.
He was very clear and up-front about retiring. But then there was a lot of speculation (probably generated by the same few journos and commentators), or wishful thinking, whatever, that he might be persuaded to continue because things look so dire. Out of the ashes, eh. The 5th test is starting now, as I type. TTFN.
He’s had a good late run and comes over as a very decent bloke. He’s well liked at Middlesex and I saw him score a superb chanceless double century against Yorkshire last year. Presume apart from him, Clarke and Haddin, there’ll be other retirements ? I can’t believe they’re going to retire Johnson just yet as has been rumoured.
Interesting times ahead for Aussie cricket. I’m not convinced about Smithy as a motivational captain – he’s still to be put any pressure – a prerequisite for the job. The reality of form suggests he might be struggling for runs and immediately that’ll find him out. Something about hm doesn’t convince, the fact there are no other possible candidates is an issue and Davy Warner as vice captain doesn’t evoke images of a Genco-like consigliere. If Smudger does fail, then who?
Hello, crisis.
Funny game cricket , funnier thing selection.
Rovers rarely on the radar for much of his career and ends it as the bedrock.
Shaun Marsh has shown he can do it just needs to be consistent. Sometimes it takes time, even years. There another bloke Joe whose name escapes me.
Smith hmm time will tell. Warner has grit Aussie teams have always had it like Haddin has had it in ( like that??). I reckon a good call even if both from NSW
Has there ever been a sporting team, yet it seems more common in cricket, who has moved people on before they are past their best? It would be a brave man who told the 2005 Aussies that 2 or 3 were probably past it, ditto the 2013 England. Seems Aussie 2015 are next, whither England 2017?
There was a piece by Mike Selvey in the Guardian recently about what the West Indies batsmen in their pomp had to face in the nets in around 1981. The first quartet was Holding, Roberts, Garner and Croft. The next quartet up were Malcolm Marshall, Wayne Daniel, Sylvester Clarke and Ezra Moseley.
Viv did that without a helmet.
yes that is what i was thinking about too
