This wonderful piece, out today from Katie Spencer, has the glacial elegance one needs in the face of 35 degrees under the faintest of summer breezes.

Sensational!
Sweltering July day? We’d be so lucky. Grey and dull here in Stockholm.
But Katie and her colleagues are scorchio. A beautiful composition. The combination of her voice and that clarinet is magical. As one YT listener commented, there are echoes of John Martyn and Jan Garbarek.
I’m in love with her all over again…the combination of the voice and the John Martyn guitar technique – irresistible!
Thats really lovely … looking forward to the new album (Oct I think ?) … i really liked the version of John Martyn’s “Hurt In Your Heart” that she did with the guys from his band
I have both of Katie’s albums and will be adding her 3rd, she’s a very talented lady.
Thank you Vulpes! That is truly wonderful and I have promptly bought her last 2 cds and pre ordered the next one. I play the clarinet and loved the way it was used. It’s such a versatile instrument and isn’t used as much as it should be. I also got the Jan Garnarek/ Hilliard ensemble vibe. Were it not for the AW I would never have heard this wonderful music.
I’m very happy to have shared my enthusiasm for her music – I’m going to see her play again in September, and really looking forward to it. I’m sure you’ll enjoy her work.
That’s brilliant – love her voice.
