Didnt know this bloke but just saw him on Fallon.A soul singer who goes back to the eighties .This track gets better as it goes along .Seriously lame title for latest album “Forever Charlie” …..blanche. But the reviews are good so it’s now on order

Aye. Was singer in the Gap Band – “Oops, Upside Your Head”…queue “dancefloor rowing” …as in boats not fighting… but also “Outstanding” and “Yearning for your Love” mid-temp classics. Great distinctive voice – but his recent stuff has been a little too “R&B” with some odd gems in amongst it. If I knew how to post links I probably would – but good to hear with the Roots – nice stuff.
I’ve ordered the new one just coz I felt like something with a contemporary feel .Got Snoop on it etc .Will then mine the back catalogue.
