First track (You’re Not Alone) from solo album due in May
First impressions:
There’s a touch of the Steve Harley about the voice
The “der der der der” middle bit is vaguely recognisable from somewhere, but I’m bu**ered if I can place it.
Interest has been piqued enough to take a punt on the album when released, especially now I have heard the first single (see below)

When Cathal very infrequently took lead singing duties in Madness I thought he really shone, Michael Caine being the obvious example. Glad he’s finally spread his wings.

Big mate of Mozzer’s and the subject of the song ‘You’re The One For Me, Fatty’. Not a lot of people know that.
Mm, that was quite mesmerising. I particularly liked the video moment when the eyes appear to well up a little. A simple but affecting song.
I think I’ve cracked your puzzle about the middle bit of the song – I reckon it sounds like the lead-in to the “You’re going to reap just what you sow” section of “Walk On The Wild Side”.

…and I just realised I got the wrong Lou song. “You’re going to reap…” is, of course, from “Perfect Day”.

I did a Nights In one week after official release. I think that’s a legitimate thing to do.
