Cheers for the heads up. Saw him with the mighty Microdisney in Dublin a couple of years back and he was on fine form. Mentioned he had been working with Sean O’Hagen again – not as Microdisney – during the show. Wonder if any of the SO’H stuff will be on here. Hope so as his melodic sense perfect balances out CC’s more acerbic lyrics
Sean is on a couple of tracks according to the “sleeve notes” on bandcamp.
Dublin would have been the Clock shows? Saw them in London. All of them were on good form I thought.
Following the Clock shows (in June 2018, I think), they did a couple of farewell shows in Dublin and Cork in Feb 19. Having loved the band since reading Max Bell’s write up of them in The Face around the time of Crooked Mile and missed their 2018 show in Dublin, I was in Ike a shot.
While MD were possibly too singular to ever be massive, the “barbed wire rainbows” that were their songs will always mean a lot to the fans who really got the band and what they were doing
