The latest Car Boot Vinyl Diaries cloudcast, the first for 2015, has been uploaded to Mixcloud. There are loads of great tunes, all found at car boot sales and charity shop here on the Suffolk coast, plus there’s The Boot Of Loot and brand new segment Novelty Island with quite possibly the lamest ‘jingle’ ever.

What attracted you to, er, Deep Heat?
It’s bloody obvious why that Bar Kays album caught your eye…
minibreakfast says
Yep, it was the great big………..dollar sign.
SteveT says
That Peter Case CD is fantastic and when I tracked it down on cd a couple of years ago it was very expensive. Used to have it on cassette many moons ago and wore it out I played it that much. If you are taken by it besure to get the second album The man with neo traditional fundamental guitar or some similar bullshit title. Looks like you have a good day out.
minibreakfast says
It is indeed fantastic! Not bad for 50p either. Will keep ’em peeled for the follow-up.
Blue Boy says
Great stuff Mini. Meantime can I plug your Bob Box set blog for those who haven’t found it – it’s bubbling along

minibreakfast says
You can indeed, ta! Am giving New Morning its first spin this evening.
Captain Haddock says
Poor you. You can probably switch it off after the first track.
minibreakfast says
🙂
Blue Boy says
Nonsense – it’s a cracking record; best since John Wesley Harding and before Planet Waves. But I will leave Mini to decide what she thinks about it…
Moose the Mooche says
Without wishing to sound like a crawler, the Bob blog is absolutely brilliant.
Play it fookin’ loud.
Tiggerlion says
I agree with Moose. It’s the clarity of thought that’s most impressive. Generally, when people write about Dylan, they tie themselves in knots and confuse the reader. Yes. Even, renowned music ‘journalists’.
Moose the Mooche says
With that in mind, I hope mini remembers to describe Dylan the Dead as a “sonic cathedral of sound”.
Moose the Mooche says
Dylan AND the Dead. Dylan the Dead is a character from Tolkein.
minibreakfast says
Aw, you’re very kind. It’s mainly a way of preventing myself from doing the usual thing I do with box sets, i.e. burn through them in one big go, then just play a favourite few after that. I figured that if I have to write something down afterwards, I’m more likely to give each album a proper listen. Mind you, whether I’ll be able to stick to tigger’s “at least six listens” rule when I get to the 80s and 90s stuff remains to be seen – I have been warned by Bingo.
Hope you enjoyed the cloudcast. Did anyone get the Bar-Kays question right?
minibreakfast says
Anyone? I bet loads of you clever-clogs know the answer.
Tiggerlion says
Haven’t listened to it yet. I’m about to rectify that in the next day or two.
With regard to Dylan’s trough period, he always remains listenable. You should have no problem with the six listen rule.
Bingo Little says
I don’t believe you…. you’re a CRAWLER
