Help – after years of idle imagining, I -and family – are going to wind from Chicago to LA (SF actually) we’re detouring from Route 66 ar Santa Fe – but we want to take a camcorder/dashcam – so it would need plenty of memory. And be cheap! Any advice/instructions/warnings gratefully received. Also – what’s the best version of Route 66 songwise?

No idea on which dashcam is best, though there are also iPhone and Android apps available.
My favourite “Route 66” is of course this classy Nat King Cole version.

Can’t help you with the camera, nor Route 66, but the best record ever made is about driving along Route 128 and the Turnpike.
