Should be a lot better, Jay, but I had such an appalling time at the Croke Park gig that I don’t feel the need to rush for tickets. The gig was fine I’m sure but the sound and vision were we were led to a most unpleasant evening. Put me off handing over any money to Aiken Promotions.
I have my fingers crossed for Leeds Arena again but suspect it will probably be a football stadium in Manchester, either way I’ll be in the Ticketmaster queue when they’re announced. 🤞
I hope not. Not sure I can face a stadium although the BITUSA tour at Wembley was brilliant. I was much younger and my bladder was better in those days.
Ropetackle would suit me too as I know a couple of the techs there.
Hope they still have it, it’s been 6 years. Saw them in 2016 in a stadium in Philadelphia (in the front pit) and it was magnificent, nearly 4 hours in incredible heat. And a sensational setlist
Well, @dai – it’s a minority view – but I was persuaded by friends to buy a ticket for the BITU tour in 1985, we all shlepped from Glasgow to St James’ Park – and I was a bit bored, if I’m honest. A minority view among my fellow travellers, I should stress – I couldn’t understand why they were all so obsessive about him.
I went from Edinburgh with my GF of the time for that show in Newcastle. I couldn’t see quite what it was all about, though it was competent enough, and I showed enthusiasm. Didn’t stop my being dumped 5 weeks later. Ah, romance!
Talking about Springsteen in Dublin, can I just say that the “Bruce Springsteen and the Seeger Sessions Band Live in Dublin” DVD from 2006 is really good.
The venue used was the Point, and I must say the audience are REALLY INTO IT. One of the best audiences on a concert film I’ve ever seen.
Yes, like a lot of artists, Bruce loves Dublin and Dublin loves him/them right back.
If he’s not touring, he also visits quite regularly each summer to see his show-jumping daughter compete at the RDS (where he’l;l be playing next May)
Remember a few years back seeing Jackson Browne one of the run of four nights he did at Vicar St (a wonderful small venue with a capacity approx 1,200 for seated and maybe 1,500 for standing shows). Pretty sure he only did one night in London at the RAH on that tour. Loads of other people start their tours(Nick Mason and Sparks being two recent examples) or have recorded live albums here (the Boss, REM, Grace Jones. etc).
I’m a casual fan at best, despite posting the OP for the benefit of others, so I’ve only just checked out the tickets – bloody hell! Over a ton for general admissions to stand some distance from the stage?
I tried to get tickets for Dublin but Ticketmaster were having none of it the bastards.
Nevermind, me and the missus are off to Rome to see him. Will be warmer and the food will be better.
Briliant news even if it is 49 weeks away!
Good to see he’ll be playing RDS in Dublin rather than the appalling Croker from last time.
Looks like being a busy Friday morning at my house

Croke Park is *only* good for a gig if you’re on the pitch.
RDS, as you might know (?) isn’t a stadium per se, so there isn’t the same echo problem.
Heard awful things about the RDS, too, but saw Paul Simon there in 2017/2018? (fuck where do the years go?) and the sound was fine

The Ropetackle, Shoreham By Sea. Lovely venue and just round the corner from me. It’ll remind Bruce of the Stone Pony.
Sigh. Wembley Stadium again I suppose.
My sister lives in that block, overlooking the river. Nice part of the world.
Didn’t know Wembley had a river.
If they came to The Adelphi even I would get off me fat arse and go.
Fonda 500 played the whole of 8 Track Sound System at the Adelphi last night. Did you go?
*harp glissando: daydreams about Bod*
Of course I didn’t. What am I, your proxy stalker? (TMFTL)

Maybe that would swing it, if you could get word to Bruce that they’ll do the gig for mates rates song long as your name is on the door.

4 UK dates, Edinburgh Murrayfield in May, Birmingham Villa Park in June and 2 at Hyde Park in July.
Have pre-booked hotel in Edinburgh… they’re going FAST!
US dates preceding this tour have also just been announced (all indoor arenas). None in Canada and speculation is that ticket prices are way up 🙁
Tickets bought with much wincing…he’d better be BLOODY good!
Has he ever not been great?
Never seen him live, never paid this much for a concert. I’m sure it’ll be worth every penny, but it’s still a shock!

Well if you don’t like him to begin with then it’s a harder sell
🙂
Burn the witch!
…as they said in The Crucible (possibly)
They did. They shouted it at Ronnie O’Sullivan on account of his seemingly supernatural prowess.
I went from Edinburgh with my GF of the time for that show in Newcastle. I couldn’t see quite what it was all about, though it was competent enough, and I showed enthusiasm. Didn’t stop my being dumped 5 weeks later. Ah, romance!
I guess that was roughly my level of enthusiasm as well…
Me too. I described one of his albums in an AW podcast as “90% perspiration, 10% inspiration”. My loss.
My pals are massive Brooce fans and fly off round the world to see him, I stay behind and feed their cats. I like cats.
Am “verified” for Madison. Square Garden, not until April 1st 2023 but tickets on sale next week
Got kicked off the Ticketmaster site 6 times yesterday and didn’t get tickets. I wonder if they’ll add another London date on the Friday?
In Dublin they’re doing three shows over six nights – Understandable given the length of the sets and the energy he puts into them.
As can’t see hm doing the Thurs, Fri and Sat, only gap would seem to be the preivous Tues (the 4th(
And he will be 73…

Seconded. That’s the only Bruce album I really like.
I like others, mainly Nebraska and DOTEOT but the Seeger is my favourite too.
Not a massive fan of the studio Seeger Sessions album but the live one is pretty good in a novelty kind of way

Check out US prices with “dynamic pricing”, prices of some seats going up to $5000! Shameful practices
I tried to get tickets for Dublin but Ticketmaster were having none of it the bastards.
Nevermind, me and the missus are off to Rome to see him. Will be warmer and the food will be better.
From what I’ve heard half of the Bruce fans in Ireland were so pissed off with the high prices they’ve booked for Rome as well.
