In 2013, Beck re-imagined Bowie’s Sound and Vision. The orchestra is conducted by Beck’s own father.
My chum posted this on Facebook yesterday. It is magnificent. I googled it up and I’m delighted to report Bowie happily gave his blessing to the project. I bet he loved what Beck created.
It must’ve been breathtaking live ❤️

Saw this a couple of years ago and it really is marvellous!
Overblown nonsense. Dreadful.
Got to agree with the Count, I’m afraid. “What if I put together an orchestra, and a bunch of drummers, and a gospel choir, and an alpine horn, and a load of electric guitars, and a big-ass female choir, and a yodeller? That would sound awesome!
Wrong…
Another re-imagining by Dylan Howe that Fatima recommended earlier this week.
I really like the Dylan Howe album. However, I part of me wishes he’d pushed the boundaries that little bit harder. It feels too safe for my taste.
Not for me.
By huge coincidence, I happened to be listening to Philip Glass’s ‘Low Symphony’ when I logged on and saw this thread. So here’s ‘Warszawa Pt.2″:
Now, there’s an album I can’t find fault with.
Agreed – it’s perfect.
Reimagined eh? Is that what they call it these days?
I tried to find a version of a Bowie song reimagined by Ronnie Hilton but that is sadly missing from YouTube. Here is a different version of the same song reimagined by Nick Heyward.
