I’ve been keeping an eye on the fluctuating price of the Dylan Complete Album Collection, and it’s dropped on a certain popular website from £143.32 on Monday to a much more favourable £101.57. If you’ve been humming and haa-ing over it, or just need cheering up after last night’s debacle, you might want to grab it before it shoots up again. I’m looking at you in particualr @rigid-digit !

Begon, evil one! You had me reaching for my Amazon bookmark there! NO! I have almost all of these already! NO! No! no, no, no…….
*blubs*
Haha! You could wait to see if it goes down further (I got mine for £89). Thing is – DO YOU DARE?!! Mwoo-ha-ha-haaah!!!!
*rips out ethernet cable from route
I’ve heard some audiophiles saying that the box set sounds better at the higher price. Nashville Skyline, in particular, is said to have higher highs, lower lows and an altogether more rounded sonic spectrum.
Less Bob is more Bob for me.
I’m currently on five…..Freewheelin’, Another Side, John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline, and the Basement Tapes (2-cd).
Might need trimming soon!
The Complete Basement Tapes is still £78.
I have a mint copy of The Basement Tapes that I will sell for £60.00 incl postage if anyone interested. I haven’t played it all the way through. It is a brilliant package and a historical artefact but not really for me.
Let me know if anyone interested.
Price is heading the way I hoped (ie sub-£100) – I will consult the budget-holder for approval
The bl**dy annoying thing is, I am as poor as a church mouse whose just received a massive tax bill on the day his wife ran off with all the cheese – car is knackered, fence has fallen down, Credit Card is max-ed, and now I’ve got a burst pipe or unexplained water leak under the house somewhere.
I covet the Box, and it WILL be mine!
Never mind Cameron and his clowns could get in again….I mean in 2020.
New alert: Having shot back up to nearly 150 quid in recent weeks, today it’s at the very reasonable £99.99. A bargain if you are so inclined. Not bad for 47 discs in a very groovy box, plus a hardback book.
Price update for anyone looking at Christmas presents: Amazon is currently £108.90, but Base.com (who are almost always seem to be cheaper than Amazon at the moment) have it for £84.59, some £13 cheaper than I paid a month or so back.
Now direct from Sony for £70!

Wowsers! @rigid-digit , the time is now.
Ta, Brucefield.
Bat/Bob signal has gone out.
Christmas Present to self – I’m sure Mrs D won’t mind.
(Now where can I buy a tin hat and body armour?)
Ahem, it’s “hemming and hawing”.
As you were.
Not round ‘ere. You must be right posh.
You must be one of those people who writes vice versa as “vicky verky” (like in the Squeeze song)
I’d love it, but I have them all already except the bonus disc of oddities and the Dylan album from 1973 which was briefly available on CD in Europe but has been deleted for years. What shall I do mini?

It’s a lovely package (hur hur), and you say you’d love it, so why not if you’ve the cash to spare? I haven’t heard the Sidetracks oddities set yet – it’s the last one in the box – so I can’t comment, but it’s available on double CD and LP. As for ‘Dylan’ – do you have Dropbox? Here’s what I made of it: http://bobsbigbox.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/13-dylan-1973.html
Thanks so much for the offer MB but I (whisper it) borrowed those two discs from a friend and made copies.
I’m very much a “product” kind of guy however and would like to own the box and fetish over it. But as I say, I already have official copies of them (including the SACD versions) and it seems like such a waste to duplicate stuff I already own.
